Hey Slider, nice wheel!! The wheel is a MOMO Montecarlo.

And I thought I was the only guy that liked those F-1 Concept centers! Maybe a little blingy, but still pretty cool!

I like how the original post was "which one of these three?" and everyone jumps on the opportunity to post pictures of their own beloved steering wheels. Buncha showoffs! biggrin.gif

I vote Personal.

But duuuude check out my Dino... ph34r.gif

Where did you find the Dino horn button? I'd like to get one for my wheel.

Hey Zach, this conversation seem familiar? poke.gif biggrin.gif

Last we spoke, you were going to snap a pic or two of your Porsche button and, if I liked it, I was going to trade you my Dino one for it. But never heard back and so figured you'd moved on. I hissyfit.gif for a couple months but finally got over it, and now here you go twisting the knife again. Why Zach? WHY?!?!

Wow...really good coffee this morning...

Proto for the street. Nice and fat in the hand but not too thick.

I know this sounds crazy but, screwy.gif I like Stock for the track. The Stock one feels great when you've got race gloves on. If you've got a fat steering wheel it fees like your steering with a basketball. IMHO biggrin.gif

Thanks T.C.
This is the best shot of my car at Daytona (RRIII) Good job biggrin.gif
I've taken your advise and am trying to help newbee 914 owners with questions that I can help with.
I would like to have the availablity to post pictures of the many parts I have for sale and pictures i've collected during the years.
We need to save as many teeners that we can.
It's amazing how many 914 race cars there are in the world.
Now if we could only get them all together for one hell of a race weekend. That would be phenomenal. Could you imagine?
Best wishes,
Gunther

Busy/forgetful/sleeping

I'll see if shooting my horn button is still in my brain when I get home today, or if it falls out when I pick my boy up from day care.

I have a fitti a nardi and a momo all similiar in size except I think it's the nardi that is fatter than the other two. I have never had the screws come loose but I also have worked a lot with allen wrench, bristols and torx screws, I tap the wrench or socket if thats what I have before I start to jar them a little if I expect them to be tight or stuck. I also tap them when I am ending the tightening sequence. I also NEVER use a worn wrench, you can file or sand the tip of the wrench back to get a new end to use. I also try to use ss screws if I can get them. My preference is the threespoke, it gives me more control when the wheel is turned and helps keep it from getting loose in my grip. I also like the padded third spoke for that reason. I don't like white threads or the ones that are not flush with the surface, it's just a little too much bling for me. I think subtle looks more expensive. It's a delicate balance on the dish though. If you want a quick disconnect it will take a flatter wheel to make up for the added heigth of the adapter. Too close and your hand will hit the turnsignal stalk. A little wax over the years seems to me to help the seam thread hold up better. I did make a mistake once when I used deerskin on a grant foam wheel. The deerskin was nice but too thin and wore through within a few years. Because it was so soft it was easy to work with though. Pigskin is the best for me, it's very tough and pretty thin but very durable. On my 4x4 stuff I use grant foam and polished ss three spoke wheels with a aftermarket leather cover. The spokes don't have the extra padded protection though.

Just my ideas. I do like to see everybodys wheels though they are all really nice.

Not a proto, but it's a MOMO and I love it wub.gif

It has some fancy triangle pad for the center of it too, but I never put it on.

It's also got little round knobs on the back for your fingers.

I wish i never lost those sunglasses though mad.gif

I have finally decided on the Proto!! But now I am still wrestling with the spoke color ..... silver or black ..... blink.gif

I surfed ebay for quite awhile and found some really nice wheels and adapters a few years ago. You gotta know what you want and the numbers of the different adapters though.

The chain wheel is "muy macho", but how do attach the necker knob?

Does anyone have a picture of the old Mark Donehue steering wheel?

Great to see the the different options. My current wheel is some sort of old RaceMark that seems to be too small a diameter. So what are the most suitable/prefered diameters to consider?
