well, my alternator on the 3.6L finally gave up. killed the battery too ... headbang.gif icon8.gif dry.gif


now here's the 384 dollar question:

can i replace the alternator with the engine in the car ???


i don't have a garage or tools or jackstands where i live, so dropping the motor here is out of the question.

can i take off the intake plenum and remove the shroud and get to it from the top?

Yes, but it's a PITA. DO a search for alternator and user krk. Kim did it once years ago and posted the results.

It is very descriptive on how to change an alternator in a six. I used it and it was very easy.
