Click to view attachment One of the most amazing places on earth. My wife and I arrived at dusk and walked across the land bridge. Walked to the top (I dont remember how many steps to the cathedral entrance but, sheez!) for a concert. I will always remember the bats flying around and the incredible acoustics.
We spent the night in a hotel with a view of the island all lit up. Will never forget it. I will try to dig up the photos I have from the trip. Thanks for posting the photo brings back lots of memories.

Yes, the road is higher but it will be removed. They found out the road stops the sand around the Mont st Michel. They will put a sort of train on piles so the Mont Saint Michel will be an island again as it was in the past
