There have been several recent posts about members acquiring 928s & 924s and I have just picked up this 1986 944 Turbo!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is a one owner car with a Clean CarFax that was purchased new from Steve Taub in Santa Monica with extensive maintenance history. Paint is pretty oxidized from being outside the last few years. It has got original Fuchs and optional Limited Slip Differential. After taking care of some deferred maintenance, I am going to drive this thing like crazy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) If values continue to pop, I will paint it in the spring and decide whether to keep her or not based on the ownership experience. With values on the rise for transaxle cars, it looks like their time has come! |

You guys are KILLING me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . Are parts available for 944/951 and how expensive are they? Parts are definitely available for the 944/951 cars. The price depends on the part but expect to pay the typical "Porsche Tax" for any part you buy. They are a lot of fun. They are reasonably fast stock and can go up from there all the way to stupid fast depending on how much work and $$ you want to throw at them. I rebuilt the engine and did some upgrades on my old 86 951 and got 323/326 hp/trq at the wheels. The relatively light weight and that much power made it a beast. ![]() My current 944 S2 rebuild/upgrade project is on a whole different level. ![]() |
