From NARP:
QUOTE Late Friday afternoon I received a call from Suzanne, Howard's daughter, regarding his MRI . The test showed that Howard had a major stroke while he was at rest. The result of this stroke is that the Howard we all know and love, would never be the same. The family has decided to let our friend leave us peacefully. I wish I could say more, but even this is difficult to type at this time. I have opened this forum so that we may grieve together and pay our last respects to a man we all love. It is expected that Howard will pass sometime this weekend. Out of respect for Howard, all other board topics have been closed for the weekend. I will be reopen everything on Monday. |

i only met Howard once.
i think it was the route 66 trip. my girlfriend went to the dinner that happened in prescott. it was nice i finally got to meet some of the people i had only heard about. we were all sitting at one large table. i ordered my prime rib rare, as i always do, and because of this it was the first to appear at the table. after setting it down in front of me the waiter asked if i would like creamy horse radish with it. at that point Howard leans over from a few chairs down from me and says something to the effect of,"that steak dosent need horse radise; it needs a good veterinarian." over a year later i still think of that line and laugh to myself every time i order anything rare. its sad to see such a respected and loved member of this community leave us, but at times thats how it goes and we have very little control over it. -jim unthank |
