I know where I can get a 924T for $1500, not bad shape but it has a blown auto tranny. Same guy has a 924S for the same money, It had an issue too, I forget what, but for the coin it was not a deal breaker.
I was thinking of buying one to make a winter beater, but I couldn't beat the economics of a Honda Civic beater. |

Interesting history on the plates as they were special issue back in 1986! https://www.15q.net/ca.html Yes, and unfortunately the Year of Manufacture program only goes up through 1980 so my 1983 is stuck with lipstick plates. Hopefully in a few years they will extend the YOM program and I can get the sunset or the blue plates. Either way you should keep yours (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Been working through the refresh and still a few things to button up mechanically.
The dreaded oil pan seal needs replacement and still dealing with a hot start issue that is not the DME relay so will look at the injectors and fuel dampener next. Did have the opportunity to give it a DIY exterior detailing and ceramic coat. Paint is nice and shiny now, but still pretty baked on the roof. Car handles extremely well and took it back to the location for WCR 2019 at the top of San Gabriel Canyon Road this past Saturday. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Lookin' good! What did you use for ceramic coat and what are you impression of application and final appearance? Considering it for my 914.

Lookin' good! What did you use for ceramic coat and what are you impression of application and final appearance? Considering it for my 914. @flacaproductions The product is Armor Shield IX from Avalon King https://avalonking.com/ Looks great & not difficult to apply, however it needs to cure indoors for several days. There is a lot of information on their website. Liked it so much that I did my 986 as well and will apply it to the 914 when I get time. The prep is time consuming as it requires the following steps: Iron remover Clay Bar Compound Polish Ceramic Optional Top Coat to extend the life of the Cermaic Coat which seems worth it given the amount of prep required. ![]() ![]() |

Had one loved it. I also make parts for them too @Mikey914 Already bought the glove box arms and LCD clock repair kit from you on Black Friday. Did the arms last Sunday and they worked out great! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) |
