Eddy,

Fantastic! I’ve penciled in the date on the calendar. Not sure I’ll have the “soon to be viper green” ‘73 ready, but I have the Creamsicle as a backup. Will trailer, and would like to take you up on your offer for a place to park it.

For over 20 years Airhead Parts has sponsored a late July, 10 day, Volkswagen treffen down the West Coast from the Canadian to the Mexican boarder. I’ve participated twice on the southern segment, 2014 in a ‘72 Beetle and 2016 in a dirty “barn find” themed ‘73 914 - see photo. When I asked if I could join them in a 914, I was told, “if it’s air-cooled and has an engine in the back, or middle, you’re welcome.”

I just checked their website, and not surprisingly, they don’t have anything up yet, so I don’t have dates. If we could connect with them, it would be a “kick.”Attached Image

Avenue of the Giants is one of the finest roads I've ever driven. Part of the coastal run. You guys are going to have a great drive. Swell parkway north of Orick. If your SOs get bored, take a break and visit the Ladybird Johnson Grove. Walk in the giants. Good photo op at the Trees of Mystery parking lot.

That's just short of a 10 hour drive. I will see what I can do as this sounds fun and I was not able to make the last WCR. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Looks fantastic! 14 1/2 hours away, but I should be able to go. I will be representing Las Vegas folks. (Vegas Racer???) BTW great job on the trailer parking.

Yes. A long trip, but you have chosen a week without rain, in a wonderful spot. Still a long drive. Four or six cylinders? Difficult choice, but the six has the tall gears for the interstate.

Looks like you will be in charge of the Showgirls this time Mike. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif)
I have been to a couple of the Oregon WCR's, but this one looks doubtful. (don't count me out yet,)
I HATE driving across the Mojave Desert in July. (Yeah, the Pacific Coast is great anytime.)

I will be representing for sure at the Route 66 Classic in April and the Red Rocks Classic in September.

Thinking about it, I have a lot going on that time of year. I have a project in Coos Bay, I’ll blame the reschedule on supply chain delays. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif)

One of these days Betty and I will make a WCR... but not this year.

It is 2,081 miles (32 hours) from home for us.

If y'all will hold it farther south, we would come.
