Please make a single post as to which technical article you are working on. When you are done with it and have submitted it to whomever, please EDIT your original post to indicate that you have finished it.

Please, let's just try to keep this as a thread of who is working on what. No real need for hijacks and extraneous comments.

The Tech Articles are located:

http://www.914world.com/specs/tech_art.php

You can navigate to this page via the 914 Info link at the upper right corner of the Forums pages and then to the Technical Articles link in the Technical Information table.

QUOTE(Gint)
Submit the finished articles to link to PM Gint using the format outlined below in McMark's quote. If you can't do HTML, then simple text in the format outlined below will be fine. Just list the file names of the pictures in the text and email (not PM) the text and pics to gint@914world.com. Pics need to be no larger than 800x600 please. If you don't resize them, I'll have to do it. I can do it for those that don't have the capability, but for those that can, please resize them yourself. Thanks!
QUOTE(McMark @ Apr 3 2007, 11:34 AM) *
There are a lot of good articles in the classics forum that need to be copied and formatted for the Technical Articles section. We need people to do that, as well as create new articles.

Here's a quick template for formatting the pages:
CODE
<h2>This is the title of the article</h2>
<br>
This is the introduction to the article describing what we will cover here, how long it should take, how hard it is, etc.<br>
<br>
<b>Tools and Supplies:<br></b>
<br>
This is the list f tools and supplies required to perform the task.
<br>
<b>Step 1: name of step</b><br>
<br>
This is the first step/section.<br>
<img src="THIS IS THE URL FOR AN IMAGE"><br>
<br>

<b>Step 2: name of step</b><br>
<br>
This is the second step/section. Copy and paste for each step.  Feel free to delete the <IMG> line if there is no image, or to add multiple <IMG> lines if you want.<br>

I just did a 914 Limited log repair install, but mine is a little different from most. I gues I could write it up, I took a few pictures. I left the jack posts off my install. So somebody woould have to fill that in.

Toby! Your published. Very nice job by the way. I added a few line breaks and that was about all. Very easy edit on my part.

4-cylinder Alternator Replacement. I just did this today and made it a point to take pictures. It's not a hard job, but a real pain in the neck. I'm hoping my step-by-step can make it easier, especially for folks who have not done the job before.

How about door assembly? From empty to factory- assembly sequence, adjustments, rust prevention, sound mat....

I just finished the driver's door, and it took about 4 Saturdays. Mainly because I kept taking 2 steps forward and then 1 step back. Apparently, assembly has to be done in the right order! When I do the passenger door, I'm taking the pictures and throught I'd write it up.

I've been revising my gear ratio model and have also come up with a companion tech article on why you would consider re-gearing, how to use the speadsheet, etc.

Tech Article, Spreadsheet and member gearset library all updated!
