I'm the GM at GT3TEK and we'll be set up on vendors row with our Porsche aero parts on display all 3 days, stop by and say hi!
Not bringing my 914 because we don't make any 914 parts but will have my 95 993RS clone in the corral all 3 days.
Hope to see some of you there!

Got a clean bill today on the 930, will be leaving Thursday about 5AM from San Juan Capistrano. Taking 5 to 46 (quick stop in Cholame to give my respects) then to the 1 the rest of the way. Anyone wishing to join is welcome. Anyone see me on the side of the road, please help!
My grand prix white 76 turbo will be in the pits (hopefully) with a couple of early giant killers, a silver RS60 and a silver Abarth Carrera possibly the (Cerwin Vega doh edit, don't know what I was thinking) Altec Lansing IMSA 914-6 as well (not sure if it's going to make it though). Stop and say hi! Looking forward to biergarden at noon on sat! Shall we be using the three finger (jack stand) salute to identify ourselves?

I have to be at work on Friday
but I'll leave from there.
I like the idea of dinner but I'll be trapped at the track. I am camping at the track (corkscrew view 612) and the RV does not make for a great "run into town" vehicle.
I have a small propane BBQ and will have plenty of beer for anyone stopping by.

We're leaving for the airport this morning, should be in Monterey this evening. Julie needs a couple of days of Big Sur and Carmel before jointing me at the track over the weekend.
I see that the county also has a bus line that takes us from the Embassy Suites in Seaside to the track. Might be convenient if parking is a big hassle with the rental car.

We are leaving Northern SD at 7, so I don't think we can make that checkpoint by 8

If you're leaving SD at 7 AM, you might consider going up the 5 to the 605 and go up to the 210. (The 57 is another bypass road, and an even more direct route might well be the inland route, 15, picking up the 210 in Fontana.) Take the 210 through Pasadena (watch the signs!), following it north and west along the base of the mountains to the 5. Take the 5 to the 126, cut over to the 101. The 126 meets the 101 in Ventura. You avoid downtown or the Westside, as well as the Valley. Let me know if you're planning a lunch stop with me. The shop phone number is (805) 925-1993.

Jim, I'll be camping in Corkscrew View as well and will have my F150 Supercrew - will be glad to drive you and any others (well, up to 3-4) to dinner if we have one.
There is a pizza/italian place up the road that is pretty good and has a large dining room as well as some outside tables I believe. I've been there a number of times for takeout grub to bring back to my campsite.

If anyone has a corral pass that they won't be using on any of the days, could you please let me know. Though I'm driving a rental, a friend of mine is driving from Illinois in his 72 911 and would love a corral pass to show his car.
I can be reached on my cell, 847-721-2156. My wife and I got to Monterey today to spend a couple of days sightseeing beforen the weekend. We're staying at the Embassy Suites in Seaside.
Thanks,

The troops are arriving, big lines at registration this morning. An awful lot of nice machinery is coming out of the woodwork for this one. My first time at Laguna Seca, and the track looks a whole lot nicer for this event than Daytona. No where near as many biker bars either.
Weather today is wonderful as well. Looks like it's going to be a great Rennsport.

Go to searchtempest.com, put in your zip code and search for 'rennsport'. You'll get a lot of hits for SF Bay and Monterey Bay. Right now there's a guy in the Monterey Bay area selling two 3-day tickets plus a Blue parking pass (which I think is a Porsche only display area, but it's on dirt) for the princely sum of $250. If you don't care about parking, there are guys selling tix for cheap.

Just got back from Laguna Seca...WELL worth it to go. I got some cheap tickets so it was doubly worth it.
I doubt there are many get togethers with more Porsches. Wolfgang Porsche was there driving the original 550, Sienfeld's 550 prototype is also there.

Great event, well attended and organized. SCRAMP , PCNA, and PCA all deserve kudos for putting this together. I met several other members, and it was great to chat in person.
I did see the green GMC Palm Beach parked across the track from us, but it was too long a hike to get to. Looks just like mine back home! Nice to see other 914s enjoying these things.
Now, where can they organize Rennsport 5?
