Congratulations Eric. first.gif
We are so proud of you and your beautiful tribute 914-6 GT biggrin.gif
When you opened up the rear trunk you displayed your 914-6 tool kit and the rear fog light made my heart go pitter-patter. flag.gif
Wow, what a wonderful presentation. wub.gif
You made my bucket list of joy when we toured the tunnel of trees on M-119 during the Porsche parade 2013.. Wonderful memories. pray.gif

You made "MY" bucket list. Thank you for being you. Much love brother first.gif

A small number (2, I think) of 914/6s were delivered with Sportomatics. Uncertain if any four bangers had the Sporto (shudder), beyond perhaps a prototype or test mule.

Quite a lot more than 2 actually ...

You are right. I was probably confusing with the two factory 914/8s. Relatively small number, for sure. Was it twenty-something?

It was fun to see how out of his element Jay was. Seemed like he was a little off balance and scrambling to ketchup. Hope he learned something about these great cars.

Eric, what a fantastic build. You should be very proud.

Eric, you represented the 914 community well. It must be a be a weird sensation riding shotgun with Jay driving & evaluating your car.

Bravo!!

WoW great response from all of members here.
and again Thanks to Hans And Eric for making me proud.

This was a nice feature. I got into 914s in 1976 when I was 6. I always thought it was unfair the negative reaction to the car when it was so fun to drive in and enjoy.

Even when I was DDing a 993, I was still a 914 guy.

The car, this site, and the people have made 40 years enjoyable. Thanks, let's make it 40 more.

PS - I need to get off my butt and finish my 74 /6 conversion.

Hi!

Saw the episode. Not bad, but I heard them taking jabs on the 914. Especially the son of the head designer whatever his name is (spoiled rich brat lol-2.gif). Just wanted to share that because I get smirks from the cocky Porsche owners myself. Haha whatever!

Great job Eric. Sad you never learned how to drive an “anemic 1.7” but maybe you will learn someday smile.gif

I'm simply not that talented. Just imagine what it would be like with a Cayenne motor... naaaaah, stupid idea. 1.7's fine if your talented. wink.gif

Can.t believe it has been ten years.

Great job Eric, and wishing you the best for the new year.

Hey Ed Hans is a super cool and very Knowledgeable 914 dude.
I would of put his car on the show also but it had the engine out.
