You can purchase parts through me if you like. The $300 is only for the class, seal kits are $40. Bearings and such often break, but I can not tell you to buy replacements until I know more about your gear box. I do not see myself having any used stock left by Dec as I have 4 clinics ahead of this one.
PM me with your gear box symptoms.

Is the answer a hard core no on rebuilding an LSD?
McMark
Sep 3 2009, 03:14 PM
Rob, are you installing an LSD, or just rebuilding a box that already has and LSD?
Dr Evil
Sep 3 2009, 04:12 PM
Ya, which is it? If the box already has an LSD in it then that is not a problem. If you want to rebuild a stock LSD unit, we can do that to, sort of. If you want to install an LSD, that is a no.

My race car has an LSD that slips from time to time. Its not bad for AX though. Since I enjoyed rebuilding my stock 901, I thought it might be fun to do it again with the race box, but I have 3 working 901s right now: 1 rebuilt Dr Evil 901, 1 4K mile LSD / new intermediate plate 901, and the race 901 with LSD. I should really just pop the LSD out and rebuild it...

I just want to reiterate that I can not commit yet. I must see where and when my interviews are for my future. I will move them around as possible. I will have a better idea come Octoberish.

The transmission clinic will be pretty much a bring your transmission and leave the car home event. It will be held at McMark's shop which is in an industrial complex in Sonoma. I wouldn't leave my car there over night. It is probably safe from people wandering by as this is some very - very expensive real estate but, McMark might need parts!

Depending on the exact date, I should at least be there to observe. If Da Boss thinks it fits into the budget, I may bring the trans out of my blue car... I will have to promise her that it will shift better if I bring it, though!!

Dr Evil, when might you be able to commit to this event? It's just a few months away and I need to know if I should start tearing apart my core boxes.

Randy,
I am considering this date taken for the event as of the middle of Oct. So far I have managed to keep my interview dates to mostly within Oct, but the emergency programs have yet to send out interviews which will probably begin going out Oct 1. They are generally flexible.
Besides, it looks pretty impossible to pass this up

Looking in Craigs List, for SF Bay area, there's a few 914 transmissions for sale from $150 and up. There always seems to be at least a couple available, always for really cheap.
