Ok, doesn't have much to do with the car directly, but I FINALLY got around do wiring the mill in. 1.5hp 220V 3 phase beastie. Stand by for the stupid. Or I'll do something stupid and it'll pull my arm off.

Crap. I've been bitten by the bug. The 944 is going to the 36 hour ChumpCar race in Spokane next year. Yeah, you read that right, 36 mind numbing hours.

I don't own the car any more, but I'm on the hook as team manager. That mostly means I read all the rules over and over and over and over. You get the idea.

Funny thing about that. The teener, with the 3.6l engine and a slightly different tranny qualifies. It's not my fault, they changed the rules for engine swaps and it falls in my favor. I might even get to keep the brakes.

This project is about to take a strange turn...

I know Im in the right place when someone has ADD worse than me! Sent you a PM about the ABA 16v

It is with some regret that I'm parting with this project. The last couple of years my life has taken on a whole new wonderful direction and there just isn't room for this car. I just haven't done much with it. A very trusted friend has decided to take it over and move forward.

Obviously, he'll have some different ideas than I did, but he's in a position to move forward and I'm not. Besides, he's got great taste.

I'll try and make a point of keeping more in touch with you guys. Sorry for my absence!

send him to this site so he can continue the build.

He's already lurking. He's a good guy with amazing abilities. Looks like he's gonna continue on with the engine and tranny. I'll probably be helping him out from time to time.

He'll likely pop his head up sooner or later. Hopefully in this thread.

The movie was entertaining, in parts, but the ending sucked.

THIS IS NOT AN ENDING!

More like a sequel. Progress will be made.

Hi there! I'm the sucker who couldn't turn down a good deal on a 'slightly used' 914 with some extra parts.

As Rohar mentioned, I've been lurking for a little while. Trying to get my bearings.

There are a lot of very good examples on this site! I hope I can do this car some justice.

More later.

I just finished reading this thread and I am more confused than ever...

Not about the RHPS movie references...more confused about the 914?!?

What happened to the V6?

Is the 944 getting a V6 or the V8?

Did this 914 with mystery motor get sold to a new owner?

It's been a while and a bit ADD.

The 944 kept it's native power plant and wandered off to a new owner all decked out for the track.

Then the wife decided it was time to sell the house. It's not likely the next house will have a shop of this nature, and I have been busy with other hobbies so it's time to start liquidating. The 914 and the V8 went to KlokWerk. He'll do fine with it, and I'll gladly help him. He will likely need a lot of support in the upcoming days as he realizes what he got himself into. smile.gif

For the time being, I'm keeping a few engines, including said V6. Engines don't take as much space as whole cars. I've got a few bad ideas for that little lump. Nobody has yet to take a performance hand at the 12v V6 Audi. If I'm just dealing with an engine, I may actually finish it! smile.gif
