Massive undertaking. Don't rush it. The end result will be worth the wait.

These are being made the rate is slow but will be picking up. We have 3 that are ready and are awaiting boxes that will be ready tomorrow.

Yeppers. I can just imagine the stage they're at currently. "What the Hell. How did that happen?" / "I dunno, the first one didn't do that." / "The first one is 1/4" short".

Actually its the metal internals we made like factory, but they are making it hard to demold. We have made some modifications to it to help and have cut the demold time from 6 hours to about 1. Still need to make a tweek or two but these are not just popping out of the mold. This is the only thing that is slowing up production. We will be starting to crank these out but if we fine tune the process before mass production

WOW! Perfect timing for me, Mark. I wanted this to happen while I'm installing the AC and it looks as if it will. Hot Damn, I'm stoked.

Yes I posted once we pulled the 1st plug and had anticipated that since we had duplicated the factory metal it would be just popping them out as the plug was out on less than 60 seconds. I knew the metal would add a little time to it. but it was just too rigid so we redesigned and made metal. That's what we are pulling now and it's finally getting to something that resembles production we need to be able to pull 3 a day minimum as there are 60 of you that I need to fill orders for. I saw this with the bumper tops when we started them and and have improved the process the point we can get up to 4 a day with them. They originally were 2-3 a week.

Take as much time as you need, Mark. Maybe the shift console covers will be ready to ship by then and you can toss it as well as the other goodies in my order all in the one big box

No rush on mine either, Mark. I'm dealing with racing at Daytona this month and would not be able to get to it until late October anyway, so it's a winter project. Put me at the end of the queue. - GA

Well I just bought another 914 and it needs a new dash. Please put me down for one.

Has anyone received theirs yet?

I am supposed to get the first one, and it hasn't arrived yet. I haven't been bugging him, since I don't need it right away, and I know that he is just as eager to get them out as we are to receive them. He was waiting on custom boxes, and that can take time as well.

Let's let Mark enjoy his son's wedding weekend and not have to worry about us product-hungry tools.

Absolutely let Mark enjoy this weekend. I had no idea he was old enough to have a son getting married! Cool your impatient jets for a few days! Mark always delivers! I know, it's like being a kid waiting to open your presents under the Christmas tree or Hanuhkah Bush that you've been looking at and shaking for the last couple of weeks! Hang in there a little longer!

I agree on letting Mark enjoy the wedding. I really didn't expect him to even read this until next week. Just was wondering if anyone had so they could post a pic.

Ken, Matt is bringing yours with him on the plane Thursday. We are bringing a minor blem to give away and one other dash. When Matt returns this next week we will be shipping out at least the next 4. And production will go up from there.

I was wondering myself. It's been awhile since an update or status report.

Mark PM'd me this morning to say that mine was shipping today.

Got mine but I have just been too damn busy to install. Heading to Japan soon so it wont happen this month! But it is a thing of beauty!

Yes, taking longer than we had planned but finally getting product out. got 2 of these out today, the rest tomorrow. I may have 2 rejects, but I have to see how they cure. part of the metal issue we were dealing with, each one gets better. We plan to ship 10 next week, and keep that pace until filled, of not pick it up. We ran out of material this week, but it should be here tomorrow. I did get tracking to confirm, just depends on if we get in the afternoon or morning if we get another day of production this week.

Also for the install, we got a great video of Brad Mayer showing how it installs on a dash that is out of the car. You can see the attachment points from the back while he's reaching in. really cool. Matt is getting it edited now.

Happy days! It looks as if the 2nd from the bottom is bent at the edge of the ashtray slot.

Yes so far it's sitting on the bench still, gonna set it aside, the mold has a lot of surface area with that texture and it is difficult to remove. As the texture is pretty fine the amount of mold release we can use in minimal. We actually wound of making our own release agent on this. It's never as easy as it looks.

2 more out today, will be shipping next group out next Thursday, we're finally getting momentum, the materials came in today too

OK, I'll admit I didn't read all 15 pages...
Is there a replacement available for the early models, a '70 -6 in particular. Looks like I may be in for an end of year bonus, so I'll have some money to spend...

We actually fitted the dash on an early car. It does fit but the glove box cut out is a little different. You can see it in the pictures. Also the glove box will open too.

Looking forward to getting mine. Not looking forward to installing it.

I can't wait to install mine. My project is stalled until I get it.

I have taken 3 or 4 of them off when parting out cars (now those cores are worthless ) and it is tight going.

Anxious to see the video that Brad did to see there there are some tricks/hints.

I'm still waiting on mine. I believe I was the second person to pay. At least I'm the second person that posted that they paid.

If you were the second that paid yours shipped. There was quite a few that paid immediately. I suspect that if it hasn't it's in this next group. I can check Monday when I'm back in.
