Thanks.

International economy would be in the $120 range. But as part of my evil plan you can add in other small items without changing the shipping much.

Friends of mine would tell you that it is a synonym for "asshole", but it is actually my last name. I loaned Mark my NOS pad to use for R&D and pull the mold. I think that I may have joked that he should name it after me, and I guess he called me on it. There goes my 15 minutes...

The early version will be some time before I get to doing it. The tooling for this is VERY expensive, and as you can tell I'm not gouging the price to make a quick buck. The tooling is spread out over 200 units to make this work. Yes I will roll it back in to making more stuff, but honestly it would change the price significantly to make them knowing that I would only be able to sell 1/5 the volume. I may go there, but for now
I'll make parts that the majority can use when the set up is this high.

These will get a custom heavy wall box for about $8 and the shipping cross country should be about $35.

This is a big day for the 914 worldwide. New dash cover for 310$ WOW.
And here is a thread on early vs late.
http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...;hl=early++latehttp://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...=214122&hl=So you can use a late dashpad on an early car but the glovebox door won't open.
Early slot for glovebox= 34cm
Late slot for glovebox= 32cm

I sat a late dash pad on an early knee bolster and the ends didn't line up well. They weren't mounted on a car so it wasn't an exacting test. Slits also stated that the ashtray location is different on an early car. So it seems like an entire new mould would be needed if you really want to make an early pad fit right. My cars have I cracked dash pads but I plan to drive them for many years to come so it's one of those spares that I would really like to have.

Late 72 is confirmed as being correct, I suspect that the cut off is actually 71, unless there was a mid production switch.

The game plan is that we will have our 1st prototype ready after WCR. I know, I wanted to be able to bring it, but it didn't work out. When I know we have the details worked out and we're are gearing up from production we will start taking the orders. 7-10 days later when these start shipping we will bump the price up to the second tier. Making it desirable to get in early as you will get 1st and your price is less. But for those that don't have the cash then, they will still have a month to get the second tier before the offer expires.

My '72 has dash vents . . . I'll check the build date later.
Finally got around to checking the build date on my car: FEB 1972. If I remember correctly, the dealer said the dash change-over was a couple of months prior to that.
FWIW, I also checked my friend Shek's car (build date DEC 71); his has the new dash (end vents) but the old (non-retractable) seat belts. Here's his car/time capsule:

Does his car have the fixed-position passenger seat, with the backrest incorporated into the backpad too? Our '71 (Jan '71 build date) has the fixed seat and no lower dash vents. I had a late '72 that had the adjustable passenger seat. I don't remember whether the lower dash pad had vents though
