Are you free anytime in the evening while you are in Durango? I will be in Texas Saturday 30th thru Tuesday 2nd (Labor Day weekend) but get home late Tuesday evening.

I will come house-sit for you. We can get together Tuesday night or Wednesday morning sometime. If all goes well with the project I am working on, I plan on heading back to GJ early Wed. afternoon. I will bring a spare down for you.

I wish I knew you were in town - and of course my house is your house whether I am in town or not. You might enjoy the house sitter we have lined up - young college student (is Val reading this? )

Please don't go out of your way. I will probably be fine as I put new tires on the car last week.

I am home all day Wednesday - maybe if time works out we can grab lunch - maybe the club where we had the awards dinner on your way out of town even.

Not looking good for me, finally got my fuel lines fixed. Went to turn the key today....no power to the fuel pump

Not sure why this is an issue was working fine, didn't mess with the electrical except hook it to the new pump. Car electrical and myself don't get along, checked everything I can think of and nothing. Unless my ignition switch just happen to go out I'm stumped.

Don't have a relay board, pump relay is wired directly off a switched power source at the fuse panel, relay is under the dash, pump in front trunk.

I'm kinda running out of time, was hoping to start the loaner motor today, then see what I needed to do, kinda hard to start it with no fuel.

Sucks I've got two more days off, then next weekend... And I'm dead in the water now.

Just tow it there anyway. Somebody there is bound to make easy work out of it. I've heard of some other really smart teeners doing this . Of course as an added bonus if it never get's off the trailer it can't break mid trip either

I drove mine from the beverage store back to the hotel with jumper cables hooked from my battery to the fuel pump.

Also, a few years ago we drove 200 miles home with 3 cylinders.

RRC can get entertaining with some of the repairs.

Well got the fuel pump working, McMark called me, on his day off...what a guy, he walked me through a couple steps.... Turns out my relay went out, wired the pump direct and it worked....but now I have another fuel leak shouldn't take long to take care of that in the morning, it's time to start I'm tired.

Hopefully then I can turn the key and have something happen....the silence is getting painful

Well things are looking up, McMark came by today, thanks again, and figured out my wiring problem (me) then fixed the leaks in the carbs....and my car now runs.

Just a few things to button up then a few short drives to check things out, still need to take it by original customs next Sunday for some carb fine tuning, ( I don't do carbs, they don't like me) then should be good to go....with two whole days to spare.

Gang, Nikki and I will be heading out Friday AM for Moab.

That said, the pad is always available for crashing and a BBQ for those passing through doing the Grand Junction full cruise or the Moab Friday Saturday thing.

We have the Guest Room and a fold out couch in the theater room. We also have the trailer which can be parked in the driveway and can be made available to sleep another 6 if needed.



Let me know the plans and I can start gathering the grub and refreshments.

Eric, any idea of the route chosen to GC? A few scenic alternatives or just the ol' Hwy 6?

Yep, Grade 8.8 with knurled washers. Just wish I didnt have to remove the whole rear bumper cover. This was the last big item on the list

For the drive on Saturday we'll be going into Canyonlands National Park. It's $10 to get in and the pass is good for 7 days. We'll be stopping at the visitor center on the way into the park for passes if you don't already have a parks pass or senior pass or whatever.
