Kudos to everyone who made this event happen so smoothly. Great to be with so many passionate 914 enthusiasts. I left my home at in Maryland at 6AM and returned at 12AM. Drove the car a total of 489 miles without a hiccup. While it was a hot day, the tour had a lot of shaded back roads. Drove home with the top down since it was the perfect night for that.

plenty of 914s in the Northern Jersey area. hopefully we could get motivated to have casual meet-ups in the near future (when you get your engine back in).

and was really great to put faces to avatars and cars.

Here is the fuel filter that failed. I think the heat got the best of this one. Do not use this if you plan to have it where the original filter goes.Click to view attachment

Just under 900 miles round trip, I made it home just before noon on Sunday. The car had a few hiccups on the way home. A new punch list begins. Thanks to everyone that made this happen. I enjoyed meeting up with old friends and making some new ones. Getting the car ready for Pigeon Forge. “ Teenerpalooza” I’m already looking forward to next year. Thanks for welcoming a Southern guy from Virginia into the North East Porsche scene.

Bruce, I’ll get you a core out next week. I have a few cores lying around.

It really was. Despite the pandemic crap and the heat, it was a major success. Kudos to Len for coming up with the idea, and to Bob and Dave for doing a lot of the field work. If you’re in the Northeast try to make the next one, they’re only bound to get better.

And who knows, maybe you’ll experience a turbo Suby powered 914 just so you can be corrupted.

Ha! That’s my lousy BMW-guy brother, Bernie! He met me there (from NJ) and needed to fit in, so I gave the shirt from the goody-bag. He actually had a great time- a car guy is a car guy (or gal)... we all have the same anomaly in our DNA.
