Would that be noon on Thursday? Pam and I are arriving Friday morning going to try and make it before the 9:14 drive!

After the event (on Sunday), I need to make a trip to Ikea in Burbank to get some stuff for my kids. Since I'm towing my 914, I'm wondering if there is anyone "local" that I could leave it with and pick up late on Sunday. Towing my 914 along that stretch of LA freeways is not my idea of a good time if I can avoid it.

0914hrs. It's become a tradition. Some times we're on time. sometimes we're a few minutes late. Look back a few posts and you'll find the routes, days and departure time which you now know.

I'm sure that between you and Oscar, I can work out something. It actually looks like Covina is the better location. It's more convenient, and more importantly they will probably have what I need in stock!

Turns out that Covina is the better choice - closer and they have better stock for what I need.

If you're coming in Thursday we will depart the Motel around 2:00 and arrive appx 4:00 in Palm Springs for an evening meal at Birba's Italian Restaurant. Should arrive back at the Motel around 7pm. It's a beautiful route both ways. If you can't make it we will see you back at the Motel later.

Then Friday morning appx 9:14 we will depart for Big Bear Mountain where we shall enjoy our lunch at one of 3 restaurants with a waterfront view. all 3 of these restaurants are within 100yards of one another so we can have a choice while remaining as a group. Presently Google Maps isn't allowing me to create our intended route because of road closures so that will be forthcoming. Hopefully within the next 7 days. At that time I will post the restaurants address' along with the intended routes. If one of you can embed this map pls do so. I couldn't figure that part out. Also, I'd recommend sending these routes to your cell phone as they are posted.

Saturdays drive 4.5 hours duration. We'll go down one side of the mountains, come around the other side, run up to the Palomar Observatory, back down staying on back roads all the way into Hemet which we will mostly by pass then back up the mountains to Idyllwild. Some where along the way we'll grab a bite to eat and have a few photo ops.

1:20 travel time to IHOP right off the freeway at 730 W Ramsey St, Banning, CA 92220 Banning (SR243 & I-10 Frwy)

Arrive by 8:30 and get breakfast or a leisurely cup of coffee.

They leave at 9:14 AM down the hill and are in Banning 9:45/10.

If not Friday, then will try to do Saturday instead.

Man this snuck up on me. My car is broke. I've got a golf tournament Saturday. My wife says I just left town for a week & am gone next week again. Hopefully my tour winnings will start to actually pay for my travel .

I would love to be there honestly. Even without my car. I have been gone way to much & have 2 more trip this month scheduled. Otherwise I'd fly down & rent a ride. You all have a blast

As I was doing the dukes of hazard through the window exit (really need to get a removable fender) my shorts snagged on the e-brake and snapped the parking brake lever handle. That being said, does anyone going to Idyllwild have one, they are willing to part with?
