HAHA! I was test driving the BMW CSL and did cheerios and flatted the rear tires. It was hard to drive, and the rear end sank, as you can see in the pic.

this game is a trip! you can adjust the seat in the cockpit even, it's great!

I was able to drive with the gravis on a lower difficulty level last night... gotta get the wheel though...

I noticed that yesterday, too.
Left click on the mouse and you move forward and back
Right click on the mouse and you move up and down

I just got the force feedback working on my Momo and it is truly awesome boldblue.gif
Drove the 914-6 at Monza and the chicane curbs just about wrench the wheel from your hands.....now I'm totally addicted. Does anyone else find themselves driving pretty crazy on the road after playing for a couple hours? unsure.gif
tat2dphreak
is it just me(or a flaw in the gamepad play) or do you HAVE to feather the throttle to make a turn? car won't hardly turn if NO gas is being applied... least amount of gas, turns fine...
seanery
It depends on the engine speed and the car speed and the radius of the turn, it actually feels fairly realistic compared to driving on the track.

Anyone care to get a multiplayer game going tonite?

New car! The PinkPig teener style!

That is awesome! Fantastic job!

A number of years ago PCA-GGR had four 914s painted like the famous 917/962 racecars:

* Pink Pig (Brian Perry, Todd Harter),
* Sunoco (Larry Sharp),
* Yagermeister (Bobby Crookshank), and
* Gulf (Greg Braun)

In the late 90's, I used the pic for the Halloween homepage on the PCA-GGR website as "914s in full costume". I'm looking for it and will post it when I find it.

I ordered GT Legends a couple days ago and can't wait for it to arrive! driving.gif

seanery
I started a thread yesterday looking for pictures of the PinkPig 917. Trekkor posted some pics of it as well as a link to a 914 Pink Pig. I wonder if that's the car you mentioned?

Here's a link to the thread.

Yup! That's it!

It was really cool when we had the pink pig, jagermeister, sunoco and gulf 914s on the track at the same time!

Maybe we can "recreate the moment" on GT Legends!

What resolution and colors are you using in the game?
seanery
1920x1200. I can make it look MUCH better if I run a lower res like 1600x1200, but it plays pretty well at this one. If I make DirectX do 16x Antialiasing...it looks awesome - The pinkpig pics are with almost everything maxed out.

damn what are the specs on your pc?!
seanery
nothing too special.
Early P4 2.8 (non hyperthreaded)
1 gig Rambus
ATI 9800XT 256meg video card (just installed yesterday - better, but not a ton better than the 9700pro that came with the system 3 years ago)

damn, my sempron 2200, 9800 pro(128mb), 512 dual channell DDR system can't cut it at 1440x900 with more than 4xAA...

I think a lot of it is the CPU though, the physics in this game is un-freakin' believable...

seanery
there are brand new Radeon/Catalyst drivers out, have you got 'em?

My next system will be an Alienware powerhouse for games like this one.

I'll build my own, always... a buddy at work was going to buy an alieanware last year, he brought me the specs instead and I buildt him one for about 4k less than what they wanted... I need the new drivers though... I forgot to update this month!

mhmm, just downloaded the templates ...

how about a "rustbucket" version? i gots plenty of pictures of #4 ...

seanery
LOL

I think some creative mapping may be possible for an erik madsen car idea.gif
Aaron Cox
they all *have* to be widebody?

no narrow body cars????

chop some a pillars biggrin.gif
seanery
nope, they are all flared. They are ALL flared because the game only came with 1 914 model. All skins are based on that model and added to the game.

I tried getting rid of the A-Pillars by mapping an alpha channel on the map where the A-Pillars come from, but it won't work. All that I ended up with was a car with no window glass wacko.gif

just looked at the PSDs and that was my thought as well ...

did you make them the same gray as the windows in the skin part and then just add them to the Alpha1 channel ???
idea.gif Andy
seanery
I just painted the alpha black where I wanted it to be transparent, then extended the back of the targa bar so it looked right.
SirAndy

yeah, i'm just thinking, it might look for the grey areas in the skin part to see where to apply the alpha channel ...

it looks like whatever gradient is used in the alpha channel is also used in the skin part (Parts Layer) ...

can't hurt to try.

still waiting for the demo to finish downloading. dunno if i can swap models to run the 914 in the demo.

we shall see ...
type.gif Andy
SirAndy
hey, you got a PSD template for the inside?

cool.gif Andy
seanery
yup, I've got 3 interior files. You won't be able to swap the 914 though in the demo, well You May, but I couldn't laugh.gif

hey sean, can you send me the whole original "Porsche914" folder under Teams\GTC-TC-76\Porsche 914 ???

i don't need all the new cars (got those already) but everything else in that folder ...
