Since Rick "has no idea" and Brant is "going to play it by ear", Jamie and I have made a plan. (We also made a side bet if Brant stays in Vegas for the weekend).
Here are some target times / location for you highway hobos.
Thursday 7:30 pm. Dinner at Bavarian Castle. 10890 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 180, Henderson, NV 89052
Phone: 702 778 2800 (this place blows away the Hoffbrauhaus)
Friday 9:14 am Breakfast. 10:00 am Departure. (specific restaurant TBD.)
I-15 and Hwy 160/Blue Diamond - Silverton Casino/Bass Pro Shop area.
As always JP, you are the man with the plan. I am debating hitting the Salton Sea on the way in. I have always been fascinated by its history, rise and fall and I think it could be a gold mine for pic ops. Oddly enough, my family doesn't share my enthusiasm so I might take this opportunity while I am solo(they are coming later)

Brant, if you don't get one at RRC, I believe I have one in the shed that worked. I'd send it for free since I'm uncertain of its condition - probably can't send it to RRC in time though, since I won't be there. It didn't seem to work too well on the 2.0 bus motor that was in the car when I got it, but ... ehhh, what the hell, it might work!

I did a drive by and the greasy spoon, truck stop café I wanted to eat at is now a Burger King / Taco Bell.Breakfast will be at the Silverton Casino Coffee Shop. I-15 & Blue Diamond. Exit 33.
Park on the back side of the Casino, in front of the Bass Pro Shop.
Fresh oil and full tank of gas. Now just tick tock tick tock....
Checked oil, adjusted clutch, up on the lift checked everything I could. Leaving early tomorrow. Wishing safe travels for everyone. See you all in PSP.

This German restaurant is open and very, very good.

Finally installed the fiberglass rocker panels that Irv (914coop) sent me a couple of years ago. Had to drill a new set of holes in the sills because the holes in these panels didn't match up with either the originals or the glass rocker panels that were on the car when I bought it. Took longer than I anticipated
I need to check the fluid levels, tighten up a few nuts and bolts and adjust the clutch tomorrow ... then just need to pack up and get on the road Friday morning

A car full of tools would be a problem anywhere they are encountered.
It is most likely in Vegas late on a Saturday night after the Clubs close. You should be fine.
(Mayweather Pacquiao fight night should bring out lots of cars full of tools on the Strip.)

Last minute detail before I leave tomorrow...install rear view mirror. Easy enough. Damn it all if my thought process isn't wrong again. I think, put adhesive tape on mirror first so I can make sure it is perfectly staight. Problem is, no way to get air bubbles out between the tape and glass. Idiot! New tape will be ordered when I get back.
