'81 928 5-speed, all original 'cept for '88 spoiler & Club Sport 16" wheels on left.

'87 944 S 5-speed, (16 valve), all original 'cept for 17" wheels from 993.

Both cars do not use or leak oil, need nothing other than A/C condenser for 944 S.

The joy of driving these very different Porsches and the 914 is beyond description. Both of the cars dropped "out of the sky" on me by friends when I was looking for neither one - but their incredible condition and great prices necessitated that I buy both 5 months apart. You could not find better cars looking for many years. Could not be more happy with both.

Jett -

Yours looks like darker red which I much prefer. Like my 914. My 928 is Indie Red, now known as Guards Red. What color is yours?

I'm actually thinking of having mine re-painted in 881 (I think) Metallic Red which is both darker and metallic.....

I sold my 914-6 a few years ago and have been Porsche-less since. . My son took over the reins and bought the GT3RS which he keeps at my home. . . and I decided to go for comfort for my last car in life with the MBZ SL550

we had those subies in aus.
they were called brumby 's down here.
(brumby is a wild feral horse in australia).

great cars.

there is one near me here that a guy owns with historic plate registration.
they never had the seats in the back tray down here.
illegal even in the 70s/80s to ride in the back of a ute.
its illegal to even have your dog ride in the load tub unless its tied up to the tub frame somehow.

Its a 1969 honda CT90
original paint
I cut the rear fender
all of the electronics were moved inside the frame for a cleaner look, as well as lots of detail efforts to cut mounts, and clean up the frame for a sleek appearance

motor is the lifan 125cc, with better gearing for top speed.
and its getting a 3 foot long chrome custom exhaust with a fishtail outlet and bullet style LED tail lights. (sort of custom hotrod look)

lots of parts were backdated to the older style of bike including the rack, down tube cover, center stand, etc.

oh - lowlight k g. very tasteful.
something i have rarely sighted in australia.
most of them are the later ones down here.

but there are quite a few type 34s still around down here.
they seemed to manage to sell a surprising amount of those in aus.
and enough of them survive.
i love running into type 34 owners down here.
they also seem to be right into 914s.
had a very interesting conversation with a type 34 owner a year back.
he seemed to be obsessed with my L jet 1.8 having never seen that engine until his cast his eyes upon mine. beerchug.gif

type 34s had to be just about the most luxurious VW made in the 1960s.
never exported to the USA i understand?

i'm betting your green 914 is going to end up looking as good as your ghia? beerchug.gif

Thanks! It was not quite so tasteful when I got it but rust-free so I went for it.

I don’t believe I have ever seen a type 34 live (unless you want to count Corvairs haha). It seems the price point was high for a VW, you could have a Type 34 … or a Corvette, your choice.

I seem to think I can live with imperfections and non-stock items but then I come to the realization that they are keeping me up at night. Where do I get those stock textured seats?
