Gustl B:
the 914-6 started out life as a regular six, the steel flares where added later on along with the chasis stiffener kit.
External fuel filler ljust ike on the Red 914-8
The engine is a 3.5Li Twin Plug with a 916 trans.
Wheels are Fuchs "8 & 9x15"
Here are some photos.

The engine currently does not have an oil cooler it has the C-2 filter, I have a fron toil cooler that was made from a 944 turbo intercooler. The ends where cut off and welded the fittings to wotk with the oil lines. The fit is very tight but it really works well.
I plan to reinstall the engine cooler when I find the time.
I am working on installing a hydrulic hand brake, as used in the vintaged rally cars.

Here he is ! Picture was taken after an orientation rallye in november.
During the rallye the day counter stopped working, the brakes locked up, we didn't have enough light (H-1's), the high beam only went on when it really wanted and when it was on I couldn't get to low beam ! We finally ended the rallye after being stuck on his belly for 45 minutes on one of our "tractor trails" in the middle of nowhere. After all ... a great day with the 914 !
By the way it's a 1975 2.0 Carburated coming from the U.S.A.
@Quilmes: that red 914 has the greatest paint job I've ever seen ! Did you do that yourself ?

It's an ex Rhode Island car, must've seen some saltly roads.
Yes it will be saved 914-6's are rare over here. They were never sold here so their all imports mainly from USA.
It was last rego'd in 1982 so it has been sitting a long time, but hopefully the mechanicals haven't done much hard work.
Here's a scarey pic RUST

Hey Gaz, Is your 914 LH drive or RH drive? |
Mine has been made into a RH driver.
The conversion is not all bad...
Looking at it now and after speaking with some people, I would probably do it myself these days and it would be better but is used to be registered as a RH drive.
I also know a guy that converts 914s to RHD - but it is pricey (he mainly builds race cars). Quality of the job is unmatched.
If you need pics or whatever, give me a yell.
Cheers

Thanks Gaz,
If I could get hold of a RH dash shell,I reckon I could figure the rest of it out.I've done a RH conversion on my Chev truck and the 914 looks like it would be a simpler deal.

Sean & Ury914, real deal> N0. 40 LeMans winning 1970 2.0 litre class, and a VERY good overall 24 hour winner too. It was driven by the late factory driver Claude Ballot Lena. Some people do go up to this car at shows and remark on the authenticity of the clone...however it is THE car that historically got Porsche the LeMans victory that year. It should be at the Ventura show in '06 if all goes as planned for the 914 to be the Featured Car
This car was a RARE find and came out of France circa '80s. Sorry, can't elaborate on the price or other details...as it is not my car
