red neon lighting. its in the rain tray/ just under the grill.
look good? or does it look cheap? btw its one of those things taht looks a ton better in person.
**EDIT** forgot to mention. the cam had the contrast set tooooo high. so it seems like the light bar is completly visible.
this is not the case. from almost any angle (other than right above) you cannot see the acutall bar, only its light given off.
it has a nice glow effect under the PORSCHE logo.

I'm guessing you're right and the picture doesn't do it justice - maybe you should try for a new picture. I can see where it would look pretty cool.

When the (3rd) brake light goes off, is it too bright in the rear-view mirror? It looks like it's reflecting pretty brightly on the rear glass. Does it need a 'backing' so the light only projects behind the car?
mrhurtalot
Oct 20 2006, 03:10 AM
the neon tube has a reflective backing on it already, and really at night, i cannot tell if its on or not. (btw its not a brake light{yet, but thats a really good idea! thanks!}) ill try and get some better pics tommorrow, maybe a motion picture or just adjust the contrast. ive gotten nothing but "oh cool's" and "wow tahts B-A"'s so far about it. just wanted some "professionals" opinions.

It's not about how good they look now, it's about what we can do with them, and how much we enjoy them even if they aren't the runway models !

Hi everyone,
We are from the Bothell/Kirkland (Juanita) area of Washington. Car is a '73 1.7, and we have owned it for a couple of months now. We have had some preliminary dialogue with the Eurotech folks, as the car needs the transmission rebuilt and some general stuff tuned-up.
My dad and I are standing on the right side (we are probably the two you will hear from the most), and my younger brother and my mom on the left. And the dog.

Whoa -- four people in a 914? And I always thought the center pad "third seat" was strictly a joke...

I love that color. It looks like the one that was on "Trading Spaces" a few years back when they did a show in the Seattle area. Do you know the history on it?

We bought it from a family in Silverdale. We know that it was restored and repainted in the past few years. It was originally a lighter (maybe the original) blue. It is still that color in the trunks.

My wife just bought this '75 2.0 liter for me for my Christmas gift this year. It needs a little work, but not a whole lot.
Came with 40mm Webers, Empis and flat-pack quiet muffler. It looks older with the earlier style bumpers.
Engine was rebuilt 2,500 miles ago and it runs strong ... we'll love taking it up & down the CA coast on weekend outings.
I love 911's and 912's , but this thing is really cool to drive! I hadn't driven a 914 since early 1973 ...

Thanks, Kelly. It's an original 912 horn button with an ebay bought leatherette replica of the leather pad. I will have the metal ring rechromed after the first of the year to complete the look. I'll have to post a picture with the stitched dash top I put on last weekend. Things are coming together. . . .
