My silver '71 original owner, my first car. And a '73 2.0 I'm currently restoring. Belonged to a good childhood friend who sadly died of a rare illness. His widow gave it to me because she knew it would have a good home...Click to view attachment

NIIIIIIIIIICE! I have to admit though, With the blue cars, I really REALLY like the white interior! It really pops and has nice contrast between the blue and white. My scarlet red 75 originally had the white interior and the previous owner had it dyed black. Idiot. I mean, it's done perfectly and looks great, but the white is sooooo sharp.

Gorgeous car. I love 914s in the darker blues. Very nice. smilie_pokal.gif

I will be posting my build thread later - but I thought this was a rarely seen photo of a 914. The build has taken over two years and includes a 2056 that I built myself that is now in the car and running - completely balanced, stock FI, Len Hoffman heads, JR cam, KB pistons, powder coated engine tins, front and rear suspension, Elephant Racing rear bushings and bump steer kit, Engman inners, PMB brakes front and rear, SS heat exchangers and of course, rust repair on the hell hole, inner wheel house, engine shelf, fire wall - had to teach myself welding after a $6K repair quote from a local shop. Those are all of my stories for now.

Nice work! Is the trunk white? I kind of like that idea if it is. I have often thought of the engine bay white but not the trunks. A white engine bay would set off a nice detailed engine rather well. Interesting.

QUOTE(Mark Henry @ Dec 28 2002, 09:03 PM) *

G'day eh! Kim, where do you call home now?

I think I'm the only Porsche owner in the Port (of no) Hope! But I'm a half-hour from Oshawa, Ontario and would you beleive that there is two 914 shops there. My bud Mike Galloway run's Mikes 914 and there is Harmondy Road Porsche. Between the two there must be 100+ scrap 914's and a couple dozen project cars and several nice ones. There is quite a few 914 owners in Ontario.

My car is a '74 1.8 and it is originaly white, a PO had it painted the orange. Great pains were taken not to over-spray the trunks. They painted right around the folded edge of the lids and the jams were painted. A good job, but it was done in the 80's and I will repaint in a couple of years. I would repaint it white, but the wife loves the orange and to tell the truth so do I. The teen is almost totally rust free and was originally from BC.

The last owner bought it in 1986, and put 3000 miles on it, it had 74,000miles when we got it last summer. He was an old customer's uncle and they brought the car to me because they couldn't get it running. It had seized injectors and needed shocks etc. When I told the guy how much it was going to cost, he said it was for sale.
I didn't even think about buying it, the guy asked me to drive it for a week, before he put it up for sale. I told the wife to drive it and 'bam' she wanted it!

I picked it up for $4500 Canadian so, thats what, maybe $2700 US. What a deal!
It's a totally cool machine, we are both hooked on it! Who needs drugs, buy a 914 if you need a rush! We now both want more power, this year it gets a 2L d-jet, but I maybe looking for a six next winter. I was going to restore a set of 4 bolt fuch's, but I will run the empi's for one more year, while I think about a six.

Cool story!
BTW Ijust had a guy Greg Collins of air riders in Edmonton install and wire up my 9113.0 with cis injectors into my 914 for litteraly a fraction of other quotes this guy is good he does a beetle clutch in 18min flat he is well versed with air cooled porsche and has experience in lambo & other exotics anybody in Alberta should try this guy first he has a little shop in his acreage Many of the Porsche & german experts simply could not do this job and I got it done for a few thaousand and the Guy even made a decent oil cooler system

Thanks!

They are forged Fikse MAG wheels 17x7.5 w/205s & 17x9 w/265s with painted centers. very lightweight for a 17". I like them because they don't feel heavy, but the 17" wheels make for longer gear ratios on the 901...

Thanks! The lights and assemblies themselves are from Hella but I think they're replicas (i.e. not NOS 911 RSR parts). The bracket is custom, fabricated and welded in by Joe O'Brien at Series9. I decided to go with backup lights 'cos I like to see where I'm backing up when it's dark, but I recognize that it's a bit different looking when compared to the original 911 RSR tail lights. Can't copy everything 911 after all! I think mine may be the only 914 in the world with that particular arrangement. smile.gif
