My ex lives in Bluffton, she's trying to donate me a kidney so I may be down there occasionally. Wife and I are scheduled for a weekend in Hilton Head in July, maybe we can say hi; our cars would probably look good photographed together

That’s a very thoughtful thing to do on ur EX WIFE’s part....just make sure it’s a kidney. Jus sayin...

We really don’t care what kind of POS water-cooled you drive. Unless it’s a 914 V-8 conversion of course!

Sorry our pic is a bit crappy.

I agree Dan. I still hold the memory of the roaring whine as he accelerated away from one of Garret’s picnics. Gave me chills.

Here you go. My first post. 74 914LE has been in the family since the last 70’s my daily driver during high school in the early 80’s. Has been stored the last 30 years. Just got it out and washed it. We’ll be working to get it road worthy once again. Thanks for all the valuable knowledge this site provides. beerchug.gif

Amazing find, well done. Would love to see more pictures. Looks like the window trim is blank anodized. The front bumper top looks perfect, which probably indicates that the car is extremely dry.

The trim had a black sticker I removed it and recovered the chrome washed the car and interior.

I am trying to figure out how to add more pictures, (not very skilled in the tool yet)

I can tell that after a few weeks I now have a decent looking car. And am working on the motor and mechanics.

I hope we will get the motor back together assembled by the end of the week, we ordered a set of stroker KC pistons and ported a little the heads, it will now be a 2.1L with port polish and 44mm dual webers.

That is a lot of parts, and labor. Hopefully we will make it run shortly.

My project GT is the meat in a real 6 sandwich.
I've owned the one with the Minilites since 1984. The other orange
one since 2020. It belonged to a customer when I had my shop...an original no rust
California car.
Both are number matching.
The yellow car I owned from 2006 to 2020. Another numbers matching no rust
California car. I miss it.
The '57 Speedster is my brothers
