My L31M (Scarlet Red) '76 V8 conversion is going to look very similar to the car above! Well, except for being a different color red and having retro '70s pin stripes and different rear valance and. . . . never mind.

Man when I see a narrow body car with wheels that fill out the wheel wells...It makes me question my desire to own a flared car. This is a sweet photo. What size are those cookie cutters? Any spacers?

Hey, my car had those pinstripes before I painted it!!

I love the filled out look on a narrowbody car!! woo hoo!

Bahia red maybe? Some of the reds are pretty close in color.

Your car sure is sweet. Definately looks really clean with the fuchs. Mine USED to have a front valance until my dad was driving it and all of a sudden felt a bump bump.....looked in the rear mirror, and there it was sitting on the ground. O well!!

I like the red ones almost as much as orange. PM me if you want a metal front valence, I happen to know where one is.

No way Martin, not secret police, just curious. That thing looks too much like what it is, a race car that is street driven. Mine is now orange with spots, primered the places where it is chipped. Gonna paint it this summer, hopefully

Thanks, the wheels are 7x15 cookie cutters from an early 944 with Kumho 205-50x15 Victoracers. No spacers. One of the other pictures I posted show the car with 6x16 Fuchs and 205-55x16 Toyo RA1's.
Porsche Rescue
Finally got to detailing the '76 I bought last fall. It has 80K documented total miles. Sold new in San Antonio, inherited by the daughter of the original owners and driven by her to Maine in 2000. All but rr quarter and front hood are orignal factory scarlet red paint. Interior is near flawless. All stock except the PO (middle aged female 911 DE enthusiast with license plate on her 911 of "FASTWMN") had the wisdom (and checkbook) to replace worn exhaust system with new early 2.0 stuff from the heads to the tailpipe.
Midtowner
Jesus! That thing is cherry! (No pun intended) My 2.0 has 9,000 more miles but doesn't look nearly that clean.

Porsche Rescue:

Great looking car. The seats are doubly cool: one for not getting ripped and worn out. Two for being so "punk," my teenage daughters LOVE them!

Thought I would add some pics of My 14.

Car was originally a Californian car then was imported to UK about 7 years ago (i think). Parts are pretty hard to source over here in Scotland, but Its coming along nicely thanks to a certain auction site and some great US parts places. Pretty much standard apart from the Prototipo steering wheel and billet shift knob.

Its a 1973 1.7L djet, still has FI intact:

Dave, it's always a pleasure seeing your car at the various southern California gatherings throughout the year!

Thanks,

I'm a fan too Dave, one of the best 914's in So Cal; is that a tweeter in the door panel ?

what a great color!

wow oh wow. Purty purty purty. Like a little robin's egg candy in an Easter basket.

Thank for the nice comments. I spent 6 years building my car- I appreciate the work that everyone on this board goes through with building their cars. I get to re live the experience!

Yes, that's a tweeter in the door panel along with a 911 speaker grill. I got to cut up brand new NOS door panels to do this job. Oh, the horror!

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
You may not get too many pats on the back for a slant nose on this forum but for one I REALLY like the flared rear and slant combo. That red is nice and deep too, nice color. If you are ever looking to sell let me know. Email me other photos if you have any -> mrdezyne at yahoo dot com....
