Here's "LOLA" in all her glory! Will be re-painted original color (silver) and a red interior! Inherited from my pops!

The only thing I've added is the third brake light from Engman and the rear trunk shocks from Boxstr.

I have a 73 parts car with the vinyl as well.

I just thought it was the PO's attempt of pimping out the car.

Here are some pics of a 73 2.0 that I got from a dealer out in California. This will be my first attempt at posting pictures on a forum so this may require a little understanding.

For those that have never seen a yellow 914 before... rolleyes.gif

Here's the original dealer web posting:

Needless to say the car is huge fun to drive and I can't wait to take it up to Hershey this April and visit with all the folks at the meet. See you there,

Great looking car--I remember the ad. Most importantly: It looks like you got rid of that horrid rear spoiler!
Put a stock 2.0 muffler, metal front valence, and orig radio in it, and you have perfection.

Welp, thought i would show off my first 914. It's a 1973 1.7. Got it for $900. Hope i didn't get ripped off!

I'm new to this website as I do most of my surfing on the samba, but I own 2 914's. Both are 1974's, one has flared fenders and a 2.7 six with triple webers and a five lug conversion and the other one is pretty much stock. Ironically, the grey one was originally the same color as the green one and they are only a few thousand numbers off on production, here they are....

At $900, it's a beauty! How's the rust situation? How's it run/shift? FI or carbs?

I'd put a nice orig front valence on, and refinish the alloys. White and original for a 73 looks great.

Rust is very minumal. Longitudes are good, floor has very little surface rust, hell hole is good. Only place i found that is of concern is the pass inner door jamb in front. hole about size of a quarter. Both front and rear trunks are good.
Motor is bad. I've pulled the motor/tranny and started on rebuild. It's FI but i'm going to switch it over to webbers. PO said the computer was bad.
Unfortunately i think i'm going to sell it. Too many projects and this is the most expensive one.
Only real thing bad on this car is that it needs is interior. It has door panels, but needs carpet and seats.
Wanna buy it! lol-2.gif

I brought this home a couple months ago. It needs long repair. I'm picking up a donor car tomorrow morning. It's a '74 with a 1.8. At least it was. I have a 2.0 that is almost ready for it.....after the rust is gone.

This is my new project, bought off of ebay for $1000. Was a charity donation.NOt in bad shape, dents on right side, little rust in trunk and battery tray. Last registered in 1989, not sure why it was parked but the wire to the top of the throttle pedal might be a clue.

Here is my project for the next few years. I have too many ideas that I want to accomplish, but something will come of her. The GOOD thing is....I'm not married or in a relationship. So, I can spend as much time on it and not hear the nagging. But this is going to be a long road. welder.gif sawzall-smiley.gif

The downside is that I live in an apartment so I do a lot of the work in the elements. I'm looking to purchase a house to wake the neighbors up stirthepot.gif

My '73 2.0 I bought from the original owners son. 68,000 original miles, rust free, full appearance group, Phoenix Red. The car is currently apart and being cleaned, replacing the few items that were damaged or too worn to repair, while the engine gets a once over.

Steven - check with Eddie ... maybe there's some local wheel guys up your way who can construct whatever wheels you want. confused24.gif

I used to get wheels made up at a place down here - 'Perfect Wheel' in Gardena, CA ... but I think they closed up shop a few years ago dry.gif

On another subject, can you shoot me a pic of your exhaust system? (from under the car) ...
