We really don’t care what kind of POS water-cooled you drive. Unless it’s a 914 V-8 conversion of course!

Sorry our pic is a bit crappy.

Hi all! I used to be on this forum like 20 years ago with my last 74. I had to sell that one when my 3rd kid came along and it didn't make much sense to have a 2-seater at the time. It was a long wait, but I'm glad to be back with this 74 1.8. I love it! It needs plenty of tinkering, but all the main systems are solid. I'm excited to be back!

Great looking car! Would love to learn more; the wheels for example look 964/993 Turbo-ish?
Hoppie944s2
Yes they are...10 inch rears. Got them at a great price as the guy didn't want them.

Yes, I've got pictures. The color looks like the alaska blue. Looked for other 98 codes but never found blue. Thinking about asking for birth certificate to find out.

So, a 10in rim with right offset will fit the GT guards then? Do you happen to know what offsets your 10in rim are and if any spacers are being used?
thanks!

Stock GT flares? I doubt it. There's a reason the factory only ran 9" rims in the rear on the GTs.

The front is definitely next, only thing is I'll need a welder to relocate the spindles and I don't have one yet, I'll drive it like this in the meantime.
I also don't think I'll be able to get away with just "massaging" the fenders like I did in the back for the tires to not rub, a sawzall will also be needed.

No spacers on the rears....yes 10 inch worked fine. I will have to check the offset.

BFGOODRICH ALL TERRAIN T/A KO2 LT215/75/R15

Raised about 2 inches, just added a generic coilover sleeve from amazon and bought 14in long 100lb king springs.

I'm still planning on lowering the spindle on the front struts to raise it and fit the front tires so that they don't rub.

Hi Guys!

Do not see too many 914's from Europe...
Well here is one from Hungary. 1975, 1.8 two single barrel Solexes.
Restored to the last bolt.
Short story: bought in Germany 6years ago, in a 100% complete but sad condition. Was sitting on a dealer's yard for 20+years.
Funny, it is a European car, but a real head turner here in Hungary. Even in Germany. Last year, went to Stuttgart, for Porsche 70. birthday party, hundreds of Porsches, very few 914s.

My wife took this sunset photo of our ‘73 1.7 a month or so ago at Eastman Lake where I worked for 32 years. It’s a photo she just matted for entering in the county fair. Not the best resolution as it’s a picture of a picture, but still nice. Just had to share it with the 914World.
