Sorry to be a bother. On those wheels, what's the original application? (What model do they come off of?)

Another Q about this car... I am not sure I like the tiny wing on my trunklid and I'm thinking about removing it. Part of the reason is that it deforms the trunklid where it mounts - the lid isn't strong enough to hold it.

I kindof like the bobtail spoiler on this blue car - does anyone know who makes that spoiler?

I made the spoiler myself, as part of the glass trunk lid. The wheels are 9" on all 4, with 255x40 tires.

Sorry, trying again. What's the original application for those wheels (what model are they off of?)

My wife just bought this '75 2.0 liter for me for my Christmas gift this year. It needs a little work, but not a whole lot.

Came with 40mm Webers, Empis and flat-pack quiet muffler. It looks older with the earlier style bumpers.

Engine was rebuilt 2,500 miles ago and it runs strong ... we'll love taking it up & down the CA coast on weekend outings.

I love my 911's and my 912's , but this thing is really cool to drive! I hadn't driven a 914 since early 1973 ...

Dude mark. your old man. sorry. but before 2006, 1973 was the last time you drove a 914? ouch that sux. av-943.gif

I'd be interested in how the lambo kit worked out as well, I think that would be a pretty cool addition to the car! Oh yeah, I gotta get the dang thing back up an running first but there is always the future mods!

Obtaining spousal approval is like winning half the battle wink.gif

My wife has become a lot more supportive since I bought her her own 914. She's talking about having the interior reupholstered in the near future, and she's bugging me less and less about all the cars and parts I've got stashed around here. Geez, I should have done this years ago headbang.gif

She just recently offered to buy me a 4-post hydraulic lift so I can get more cars back on the road piratenanner.gif
PeeGreen 914
drunk.gif Nice. My wife just wants me to get the '70 S finished so she can drive it. She really likes the fact I race and work on cars. If you guys are single just remember that if they give you crap about your cars now they always will. If they like your cars now they will be supportive of your adiction.... at least somewhat. happy11.gif

Here is my 1971 914 it is all original, and just about flawless you will never believe me but i only paid 100$ for it. It was one owner i am the second. Garaged mostly it's whole life. Fuel injected, all i had to do to get it running was clean the fuel pump, and put new fuel lines on it, it had been sitting for a number of years, oh i drained the old gasoline out and put some super in it.Click to view attachment

Nice score! A Real Classic!
how many miles?

it has 97,xxx all documented miles. It has gas receipts dating back to 1971, every oil change, all service records, it even has the original footrest for the passenger (i admit i didn't know what it was until i did some research). It has the owners manual with the dealers stamp. It was an amazing score, I still can't believe it. The guy that sold it to me apparently thought it wasn't worth the effort. screwy.gif

Aye, tis 'Howie' howard.gif

We were fortunate to get all the original components too (footrest, tool kit, battery top cover and service records).

I recently changed the wheels to Empi's and plan to put a Bursch exhaust on (for a little more HP and better sound), but keeping all the original parts (will powder-coat the steel wheels and repaint the muffler with gray VHT or =)

I think black ATS wheels will look good on your car. The Empi's only have stock 165's on them (because of the VW bug offset), but they look OK on her car.

I recently picked up a set of black ATS wheels for me black '75 (see a few posts back). I plan to have the lips and ribs polished and the centers painted to either match or contrast-accentuate the body color when the car gets repainted.

... just made a killer deal on a set of 14x6 5-lugs too smile.gif

idea.gif Now the big problem is which car to put them on confused24.gif

Hey that's my old GT piratenanner.gif
schreiber
So I've been lurking around the website for a while now - figured I'd go ahead and say "hi".

This is my '71 914. Bought it from a friend's dad here in Huntsville last fall, haven't spent much time with it, but plan to dive in now that it's starting to get a little nicer outside...

I know it has a few big cosmetic things that'll have to be worked on - I'm better with these than the internal stuff (engine, electrical, etc).

Anyone know of any other 914 owners in the North Alabama area?

Was it repainted? Marathon blue was a 74-75 color.

It looks really nice...
dw914er
yea, i repainted it about a year ago

it was originally silver metallic, but it fades too fast, so after seeing the marathon blue metallic, i thought it looked alot cleaner, and would survive the sun better, so i made a similar match for the color
