So here is the newbie's car. A little history...
I was bumpin around on ebay looking for a teener when I found one that was in decent shape for $350 but ther reserve had not been met, obviously. When no one ever bid on it I decided to cantact the guy.
When I finally got ahold of him I offered $500 for the car and he said which one. Naturally I said the 914 and he said which one. The guy had two for sale, and to make a long story short, he said he would sell be BOTH for $1000, but I need to ship them 400 miles.
I ended up buying the better of the two, the other was in really bad shape, for $600!!! When I got the car I looked around... NO RUST, except for a tiny spot by the targa pillar. Solid running engine, which I sold. And a solid tranny, which I still have. There is some evidence of a very minor colission on the front left side, but VERY minor.
So here are the pics. The first set is from when I got it in my driveway, and the second set is after 2 days of teardown.
Just arrivedAfter a bit of teardown-Chris

I don't think I've ever posted here, so since I just got my second 914, here goes...
Signal Orange one: 3.6, euro RS cams, 996TT MAF, 84 915 transmission, steel flares, 993TT brakes, carbon fiber lids, leather interior, early 73 doors, early chrome bumpers, 2186#, ~300 HP. I've owned it for almost 14 years now - it was my first car and got it a couple weeks before I turned 16. It was originally a 1974 2.0.
Phoenix Red: 1973 1.7. Just purchased. ~25k original miles.

I'm new here, and to Porsche ownership.
Car is a '70 1.7. I know very little about it as far as history goes. FI is in pieces and carbs are on their way. So far, I have found zero real rust.
Lots of stuff planned.
The daily:
Coilovers, adjustable arms, camber plates, VLSD, sways, braces, awaiting 15/16" MC for Altima/Maxima big brakes. Needs more rubber and a roll bar.

Finally, here it is--it's a '72 1.7l. It's bone stock with the exception of dual Webers. I'm the second owner. My father-in-law is the original owner. The "Porsche" decal and green pinstriping was added at the dealer in LA. The picture doesn't show the brightness of the color well, but it's screamin' yellow-the original color.

I'm another newbie....to the site and to Porsche-dom!
I just bought this '74 1.8L from my brother. He did most of the restoration. It's mostly stock and is currently at the body shop getting ready to take on paint. 'seems the original owner (not my brother) left it sit under a tree for better than a year. They're called "weeping willows" for a reason! I'll post more pics when I get 'er home.

I'm thinking that I need to put a set of those on my 914 when it's on the road. I'm really starting to like the look of them on a 914.
