Not new, but I've been fairly quiet. Here's the silver/grey 1974 2.0 liter, which I've had about a year now. Basically stock -- side markers deleted, Rivieras added (with wrong offset, grrr), and a bunch of alarm bits and wiring that I want to remove. And yes, I need to take more and better pictures of it. biggrin.gif

And now, the 1970 914-6. It's got a 3.0SC motor with what I think are the original rebuilt Webers fitted.

Some of you may have seen this car for sale on eBay recently. I was able to see it in person, and after the auction buyer backed out I picked it up for $10k. Good news, the body is amazingly sound, surface rust but no rot to speak of. New Brembo GT brakes up front, old front calipers moved to rear, and bright green Bilsteins up front.

Bad news, it's got what my mechanic thinks is a Motor Meister engine that's not doing so great. It's running well after a valve adjustment, but there's enough of a problem with the rings that if I gun the motor from a standing start I'm likely to spray oil out of the breather and into the engine bay. Grrrr...

I am not a strict preservationist, and I like the look of these steel slant fenders. The tires above (225s in back) have been replaced with 205/55 AVS ES100s all around on the 16x6 and 16x7 Fuchs from an 86 Carrera shown, and so far (two days) are clearing the rolled fender lips. I wouldn't rule out a rounded rear flare, maybe using steel SC front flares.

1974 2.0 mechanically and visually flawless with 40,000 original miles. Bought it a month before WCC 2006 (where the picture was taken).

Have dreams of flares and 5-lugs but it's two prestine to touch right now. Maybe in few years if I get bored...

Chrome bumpers and a set of Fuchs would be nice in the meantime...

I must agree with you here, that set up looks schweeeet! I'm toying with the idea of a semi slant. Details later.

Dan, as long as you buy low/sell high and not the other way 'round, I imagine it all works out just fine.

This is my unrestored 74 at the Funfest in Effingham IL, last summer. Too bad that was the last year for Mid-America to host a Porsche event. confused24.gif

This is my 2nd 914.....my wife and I had a 72 1.7L over 20 years ago when we were married. Sold it because we didn't have a place to store it. Really missed it and purchased this one about 5 years ago from its 2nd owner.

Holy crap....the WRX motor runs better and idles smoother than any of 3 914 motors / cars I've owned thus far, even after sitting seperated from a car for over a year, and that's on the first real running crank.

Ok, here is a picture of my car from 1.5 years ago. I am in the process of gathering parts for a 5-bolt conversion, so the look with change slightly in the next few months. Still haven't decided on black centers w/ polished lip or polished paddles and lip.

Why? Looks great the way it is. I have my sights set on something like that.

Shawn, you taught me something today. I thought all 2.0's in '73 came with appearance group. Beautiful car. Is it still original color?
keebler117
She has been reapinted within the last 5 years or so, but it is Still the Original Color. The only thing different is that the bumper was Black and had 2 bumper guards, (paintd to match body color and missing the bumper guards).. other than that its all original.... BTW.. I spoke with the original owner.. and he stated that the car had the RADIO DELETE option.. he had put in an 8track then cassette over the years, after that, the fella that I bought the car from installed the CD player.
