agree.gif was looking forward to visiting but w/o a functioning shift hand Im sidelined for a while dry.gif

Sorry to hear about your (temporary) disability.

I have not been active here, but I've been driving my 914 from time to time. The clutch still slips and the door handles, rear trunk, etc. don't work. But still enjoyable to drive.

Rich, good to read your injury is on the mend!

Drove the 914-6 last Saturday, but we haven't been around long enough on the weekend to meet up with any other teeners.

Someday, just gotta get our house done.

That is around the corner from my place, would absolutely stop by!
PanelBilly
Looks like we have grandkids coming over today so I’m staying home to help manage the crowd. Would rather be with you guys but last time I left Julie alone with them it wasn’t good
CHIZ 914
After checking the Air Quality out today is really bad and should call this off for today! It's just not good to be outside right now. Way to much smoke

Hope to try this again soon in the next week or two

Bleyseng
Yep, another time where we can see where we are driving as its pretty damn smokey now in Seattle. icon8.gif
messix
I'm here

By the way diamond knot doesn't open until 3pm
CHIZ 914
Well the smoke is gone and this weekend looks decent for this Sat 10-03-20
Anybody what to try this again for the weekend?

I want to join you but already planned to take grandkids to Mt Rainier.

I could fit something in on Saturday, but my Sunday is already booked.

Wow! Just been checking around for a equipped shop to do an alignment & corner balance.
STICKER SHOCK! I dont recall spending more than $500 when doing mine...
Times have changed.
Anyone have a recommendation here in the PNW?
Rav914
Virg's Brake and Suspension in Mt. Vernon. Last time they did an alignment to my car (another make and model) it was reasonable. Around $100 or so. Haven't asked for a corner balance before.
sdthomas
Cantrell Motorsports did mine several years ago. Around $200.

Cantrell did mine four years ago was under $300.00.

Ya thats where I ended up. @jsaum Collin did my LE but hey were a month out.
Tru-line were good to work with but it took them two tries to get it right.
1st time they dropped in in the weeds!! So low & such aggressive rear camber the rear shock damping was non-existent. 2nd time I guess they had adults work on it. biggrin.gif
rhodyguy
Did you try Redmond European?

You shouldn't have told them to make a low rider out of the 914!

Never had my car corner balanced. Just adjusted it myself based on the ride height I wanted. Now I wonder if it would make a difference.
914werke
It'll make a difference. How much youll notice.. confused24.gif ?
Consider they place a weight to approximate YOU in the drivers seat to balance the suspension ~
Not sayin you are large or anything happy11.gif

That's a gorgeous 914. What's the story?
PlaysWithCars
Corner balance does make a difference if you drive them hard. Otherwise? You won't notice it. I can tell the difference when autocrossing and how and which corner starts to lock first under hard braking.
PanelBilly
Anybody else up for a drive on Sunday morning?

Take a good look at the underside of the car, I suspect that there is significant rust and previous damage.

I’m going to do the Jaunt to Alder Lake on the Roads App. Leaving McDonald’s at the Super mall at 9:30. If you don’t want to load the app let me know and I’ll bring instructions
rhodyguy
When you're in the neighborhood, check out Skate Creek Rd. East of Elbe a few miles. Mind the blind corners.
PanelBilly
Great drive. Julie and I were all by ourselves but that Kent I could drive my own pace. Beautiful views of Mt Rainier and nice country roads
PlaysWithCars
Wish I had seen this. Since putting street tires on the car, I discovered how darn nice it is to drive. Even with stiff suspension and race seats, its still a great driving car. With the Hoosiers on it you could feel when you drove over a dime, but the street tires are more forgiving.

Bastard took out the entire cul de sac
I had a lot of work to do, instead I had to go out & rake leaves until the Pwr. Co. showed up hrs. later.
