Thanks, had it done by Sewn Tight Interiors. They are a high end custom / street rod company. Have cars at SEMA ect. Did it in a few hrs of his spare time.

Keith Hulley (914Toy) came over to install the Tangerine Shift Linkage kit. Keith had already done the installation on his car so the job went quite well. We were done in 3 hours.
The Tangerine kit smooths out the shifting and a major improvement.well worth the investment.
Big thanks to Keith ! smile.gif

Received my like-new original fog lights from DrPhil, and he was gracious and kind enough to send me his also like-new front bumper for free if I paid the shipping - he wrapped it so well I know it took at least an hour to pack it, and a lot of work to carry it to be shipped.

My bumper was a mess, had been bent and in bad shape.

Received all Wednesday and finally got the bumper and fog lights installed this morning - my sweet 914 looks 100x better from the front as the fog lights help diminish the ugliness of the big black bumper.

Kudos to, and huge thanks to a true 914world friend - DrPhil. So glad he is now back to health too!

I took mine to local C&C yesterday at the encouraging of another forum member who takes his 914 there.

I was early, so I framed it properly: parked it next to a new Porsche GT3, 2- McLaren F-1's, and a Ford GT. This pic was early .....

A hundred cars there I think, and surprised at all the interest in my old 914, as raggedy as it is....the only one there.

This morning, I found a small box on the dining room table that must have been delivered in Saturday's mail. In it was this nice set of new Weltmeister Poly-Graphite trailing arm bushings smile.gif

More precise suspension! Weltmeister manufactures Poly-Graphite bushings in a hardness for street Porsches®.

OK ... we'll give 'em a try when HOWARD's full-on suspension rebuild gets underway ...

Tiny thing compared to a suspension rebuild (someday...), but car came with new outer lower window rubber so I put them in yesterday.....keep water out of door bottoms in rain - but don't plan to get the car wet except for washing it.....ha! You know how that will go....... ;-)

Great looking brackets to hold that tank!

Cut the raw stock for my front caliper adapters. Hope to machine this week and test fit.

Please tell me it has a safety bladder inside of it?

It's mounted in what turns into the crumple zone if you should hit anything or something hits you. sad.gif

Hey! I'm in the middle of swapping engines in the race car for this weekend's Lime Rock Historics because I broke my crankshaft.

How'd your weekend go...?

That's only the 2nd. time I've heard of a 2.0L crank breaking. I think Brant had that happen several or more years ago confused24.gif

smile.gif Nice ! How many hours did it take to do the engine bay ? That is something I'd like to do or have done.....
JOEPROPER
Can't remember if it was anything special. I just wanted it to look clean. Took my time cleaning the trans before painting it.

Engine bay wasn't that bad. Probably 3-4 hours. Most of the work was the firewall. The pad was removed, but getting the glue and fibers out was time consuming. It's not perfect , but I'm satisfied with it. I got the primer, paint, and clear from Eastwood. Easy to deal with.
Now I need to find a bunch of bits and pieces to get it together and running. ex MPS mounting hardware, ECU bracket and hardware, throttle cable hardware etc...
mepstein
Worked on the suby car. Needs to be a roller so I can take it to Amerson for engine and trans install.
Got the 3.2 in an engine stand. Steve/shogunegle had it running in his car so I’m not planning on changing much. Clean it up a bit, backdate heat and a pair of Ben’s heat exchangers.

I usually take my son (now 12) on drives in the 914, been doing so since he was about 5. He loves it.

My daughter (10), on the other hand, has been less comfortable riding in it.

Sunday, she agreed to go for a ride as long as I "don't go too fast" and "don't be too loud". We had a really nice ride. By the time we were on our way back home, she was encouraging me to go faster.

Mission accomplished.
euro911
Good on you. cheer.gif

I remember the incidence of another good member here - who's daughter was embarrassed to be seen in 'dad's 914', albeit a stunning '6' conversion that any one of us would give their eye teeth to have. She told him "it's an old car" screwy.gif

I don't remember if he told her that she could start walking to and from school or not laugh.gif
