Yep, did that. I had stuck the camera down through it to try finding where the tube ended - with no luck (it's hard to maneuver the camera head once inserted into a void ... it wasn't designed to perform colonoscopies)
I finally got a view through where the wiring harness goes back down into the tunnel and saw the white #14 tucked in the lower right hand corner of the tunnel, but still couldn't see where it exited from the tube.
I inserted a really small (1/4" diameter) flashlight through the hole in the firewall, made a hook to grab the #14 and again, with the help of the camera, pulled it towards the hole, then grabbed it with a pair of long forceps and pushed it towards the flashlight and through the firewall.

Something within 6" or so beyond the firewall was inhibiting the pull, as it took several attempts to finally get it passed whatever the hang-up was. Once it did, it was smooth sailing from there on
The end result? ... success, finally
