Sunday we drove both 914s to the park to go for a walk. Then we went out to eat with @scottthephotog and K.T. It's fun hitting a small patch of ice while trying to accelerate. The tires bark loudly when the leave the ice and hook back up to the pavement.

Yesterday we drove the 4.0 to meet with the buyer of my Dad's 1927 Chevy.

Lots going on but finally epoxy primed my only narrow-bodied 914. Will apply paint next week. (Orange)

I recently purchased this Subaru EZ30 SIX from a local socal member.
The plan is a light face lift, new interior and ENJOY. Very solid car driving.gif

A bit later this spring swapping to 5 lug conversion since I already have all components and wheels.

Over 50*F here today, so crew-dog and I took the 914 out for over 50 miles driving.gif

First 914 drive since returning from MN; sure was good to be back behind the wheel!

Today I finished the door panel project. Pictures to come. One door panel was the early style with the metal top, the other was the late all fiberboard. Couldn't easily duplicate that fiberboard top so I cut out the bad lower section and spliced in some new material with fiberglass. I went back to the plain vinyl and while I thought it might be too plain looking, with all the pockets and handles, I think I like it better than the later basket weave style. Next is redoing the speakers back to their original spot now that the doors are solid again. beer3.gif

Took the '74 to the shop, going to do the following:
1) Install new right rear hub
2) Install new right rear bearing
3) Install new rear springs
4) Setup the new "oil sump" kit from @914werkes
5) Oil change with Bradd Penn oil.
Lots of fun stuff getting installed, should make the car ride a bit better on the back end.
We'll see though smile.gif

I’ve been working on these ebrake plates. I primed and then baked them for an hour at 250 the other day. Fooling around today I went for a second coat and baked for three hours at 300. It is hard, I can not scratch it off with a finger nail. So for that last small part, this may be a solution.

I uncovered her and took her for a very nice ride on some curvy roads and then stopped in at my mechanic's to shoot the BS with him. The last time I drove the car I was about 7 weeks post-op on my right shoulder replacement and I had a hard time shifting while driving home. Today, at almost 4 months post-op, she shifted like a breeze. beerchug.gif driving.gif

Nothing better than a road trip with one of your "kids", especially when they're old enough to drive (and know how to drive a stick) !!
TC 914-8
It’s been a while since I posted on this thread, so ….. over the years I pulled my fuel tank, repaired rust and sealed the pin holes and coated the inside (cheaper to buy a new tank).
So with a miss-mosh of fittings and connections, along with factory plastic lines, I pulled the trigger to pull all the plastic lines and replace with steel lines. I replaced the factory tank fittings with -6 AN fittings, installed 3/8 supply and 5/16 return -6 lines with fittings front and rear. I still have to pressurize and check for leaks but should be good by this weekend.

Mark-

I did some of the bodywork, some of my workers helped me after hours @$20/hr. I have about $800 in materials. Fortunately, I used my own prep area & spraybooth. I paid a friend of mine to actually shoot the basecoat & clear. He charged me $1500, well worth it. At the end, it's a $7500-$8500 paint job for less than $3500. Not including my hours...I'm free according to my wife sad.gif
