Got a lot accomplished today, but the best part was my drive at the end of the day!!
Made my first trip to "somewhere", so a drive that wasnt going in circles just to test things out. Went on a good drive and made multiple stops, all in my teener!

Replaced Accelerator and clutch cable that I bought from GPR parts and just to mention, Brian is an amazing guy who really have an excellent customer service doing business with (Thank you so much Brian!).
I thought my clutch pedal is already smooth for this 38 yr old car but after replacing the clutch cable, wow i feel that I'm driving a newer car. It is really that smooth and it is even smoother than my accelerator pedal. Maybe I need to check on something with my gas pedal now.
Put her on jackstands for some cleaning underneath and stared at some of the projects I still haven't had time to get to yet... Still need to get the rears re-drilled for 4x130 to keep it 4 lug. Ah big brakes, someday you'll be 'on'... Click to view attachmentClick to view attachment

Finally got around to installing the aluminum Brembo calipers on my car. I have had these on the shelf for six months now. My wife has them on her bumblebee and they really improve the braking. I am happy to now have them on the /6. The ones I installed were powder coated black but next time I will have PMB do them and finish them silver. Please forgive me Eric for I have sinned. I also tossed in a new set of Porterfields which also helped with the stopping.
By far the worst part of the Subieversion. Hang in there! Easily took 40 hours for me.

I found myself with only two gears while driving home.
Turns out the delrin bushings disintegrated.
I don't have any of those laying around...but I did remember that I have a few bushing sets from my skateboard that I didn't use. Just had to shave a little off the ourside to get it to work...but then it fit like a glove!
(Until I can get some real ones.)

I ditched my holley. Enter the Quickfuel Technologies Annular. Weighs about 15lbs less, and has crazy throttle response. First annular ive had,and its the shit. Also ditched the shitty Chinese made holley regulator with a real one. Click to view attachment Click to view attachment Mech secondaries now too. The car barely ever got into the vac secondaries with the holley, even with the lightest secondary spring. Now I know when im blazing all 4 bbls. The quickfuel came with a bunch of secondary linkages to choose from, so I can choose how early or late I want them to open. I love new stuff.

I can relate to how John Lennon felt when they finally finished the last cut for Helter Skelter on the White album!

Installed a custom set of /4 straight pipe headers that have a 911/914-6 single hole exhaust flange. Then using a modified 911 banana muffler with the single outlet welded up and two center outlets welded on. Sounds AMAZING!! supper happy with it, top end performance feels much better.

what did you do to your 914 today?
- Got a new battery - Fixed the broken tranny ground strap - Installed LED gauges - Rinsed off 4 weeks of dust and bird poop - Drove her to work for the second day in a row

Few things...
- Rebuilt and reinstalled both front Wilwood calipers, installed new front rotors and bearings. - sanded the rear brake pads to get rid of a howl - Bled the whole system - Replaced a shorted switch in my DVR circuit. It's good to have the cameras working again. - Wired in the fog lights - Rewired the headlights - Fixed the indexing of the steering wheel extension so the turn signals work properly now. - Cleaned more of the eternal glass-bead remnants out of my shifter... Gads, I'm never gonna be rid of it completely. - Set up a new gear-stack for an AX transaxle. - Fiberglassing the broken front spoiler as we speak
She'll be ready for a two week trip starting Saturday. Not a big trip, maybe 800 miles give or take. Fishing at Toledo Bend! The bass won't know what hit 'em.

Drove it to Bank, Library, Post office and friends house just to bed the new porterfield brakes but was not able to do Eric's instruction because I drove only about 2 miles from freeway and mostly side streets. Also happy that I only got maximum 230 degrees F on my temperature (using thermo dipstick) which is at 1:00 o'clock in my temp. gauge (thermo gauge with small red warning).

Was going to work on the car but neither furnaces would fire up (first time this season). Found a corroded high pressure switch terminal on one, onto the other.
Someone installed an Engman long kit on my car last week??? Door gaps are perfect!
Sad to put it on cause it felt like the end of an era. But I figure Mark is smiling every time someone installs one of his products!!! Your legacy lives on brother.. RIP and thanks for all the great designs!

Hi David,
Just wondering sir, is this exhaust pipe used to be a heat exchanger that you just remove the tin? Thank you and God Bless!

I brought the 'BB' home a couple of weeks ago and planned to take it for a drive on 9/14, but when I went to start it on Saturday afternoon ... ... fookin' battery was dead
So today, I finally got around to sticking a charger on it.
Guess I should drive it more often ... or at least start it up every now and then, eh?

I have not quite decided yet. If I stay with a factory color, it will go back to it's original Light Ivory. If not (which I am leaning towards a color change), then it will be something I have never seen on a 914 before.
