Sounds like one of your neighbors is being pissy and calling the city on you. I had the same thing happen in High School. My car would break down, and I would put it in the driveway. While I was at school, the guy across the street would call the city and tell them there was a derelict vehicle in our driveway, and they would come ticket me.
I got him back. His daughter wrecked her car, and they put it on the street in front of their house. I called the city and told them there was a wrecked vehicle on the street. It was towed to impound while he was at work.
Two other of my 'good' neighbors have also been targeted. The parking enforcement a-hole stated that 'a neighbor' has called to report derelict vehicles up to seven times a day. We have a hard time believing that, however if it is true, that amount of calls seems exorbitant and I would think it would raise a red flag at headquarters as to the complainer's mental health or that they're doing it for some other nefarious reasons.
We're still trying to narrow down which other 'neighbor' could be the culprit. It's a small list, as most of us have been living here for a long time.
There are some newbies in a condo complex right across the street. A half-hour ago, another neighbor just let me know that one of those new tenants has been complaining about
her for parking behind the garages on street sweeping day to their landlord. (Note, none of the tenants use the garage spaces for parking). Connecting the dots will eventually lead to the real
