Skipped work (it's SUCH a nice day today) and successfully got my car through safety inspection. After 12+ years of hibernation, the "Red Onion" is now back on the road (legally anyway). God bless the Commonwealth.

Installed my upgraded speedo gear from McMark at Original Customs. Since she's mostly track and has no speedo cable, I had a machinist at work whip me up a nice little cap to seal the end. No more drips from my girl!

Getting some back fires if I coast in gear after accelerating. If I go to neutral, and coast, no backfires. I am thinking my carbs are leaking a little.

I tightened up all exhaust nuts, cleaned the plugs, and made sure that the plug wires are all secure.

Thoughts?

What muffler/ exhaust system is that? You don't happen to have any video or sound of how that system sounds do you?

Moved the 'BB' to the back driveway because the fuching parking enforcement prick appears to have it in for me for some reason. He tried to have it towed on Monday mad.gif

If I wasn't here, they could have gotten away with it, but I had witnesses and surveillance video proving it had not been parked in the same spot for 72 hours.

So yesterday morning, the prick wrote me a ticket for not having a front license plate permanently attached to the front bumper (it was on the dash board).

Does anybody else here think this guy is being a royal dick-wad? confused24.gif

Sounds like one of your neighbors is being pissy and calling the city on you. I had the same thing happen in High School. My car would break down, and I would put it in the driveway. While I was at school, the guy across the street would call the city and tell them there was a derelict vehicle in our driveway, and they would come ticket me.

I got him back. His daughter wrecked her car, and they put it on the street in front of their house. I called the city and told them there was a wrecked vehicle on the street. It was towed to impound while he was at work.

Two other of my 'good' neighbors have also been targeted. The parking enforcement a-hole stated that 'a neighbor' has called to report derelict vehicles up to seven times a day. We have a hard time believing that, however if it is true, that amount of calls seems exorbitant and I would think it would raise a red flag at headquarters as to the complainer's mental health or that they're doing it for some other nefarious reasons.

We're still trying to narrow down which other 'neighbor' could be the culprit. It's a small list, as most of us have been living here for a long time.

There are some newbies in a condo complex right across the street. A half-hour ago, another neighbor just let me know that one of those new tenants has been complaining about her for parking behind the garages on street sweeping day to their landlord. (Note, none of the tenants use the garage spaces for parking). Connecting the dots will eventually lead to the real bootyshake.gif

Revenge will be inflicted ... and it won't be pretty shades.gif

Disassembled the brake proportioning valve.

Many thanks to Doug (CptTripps), I didn't kill myself. He had a great trick to disassemble it!

Note: There is a very HEAVY spring inside. If you disassemble it wrong, you can injure yourself very easily, or cause some other damage!

Detailed the teener and entered in a local car show. It was never intended to be a show car, but it was fun being tucked in between two muscle cars and answering the following questions:

1. What is it?
2. Where is the engine?

I had about a 50 mile (mostly highway) drive home in beautiful weather. I took the top off for the first time on a road trip. Listening to Kansas, "The Wall" flying up Rt. 83 - I entered a state of Nirvana. All the work I put into this car was worth it! aktion035.gif

It was a great day.

I fitted /prepped/trimmed the Engman kit.

1. Drilled out all the holes 1 step with a uni-bit and brushed over lightly with an angle grinder on the backside, since it leaves a little lip.

2. Trimmed the end and the seatbelt mounting bolt holes that weren't quite aligned right and trimmed hear and there to get it nice and flush all over.

Sweet exhaust....what system is that? The EVO 4? How does it sound? Is it quiet or would you say loud.....looks beautiful
crash914
re-packed CV joints, fitted up oil cooler, installed both deck lids, ordered new throttle cable for cable throttle linkage.

Now to just tighten bolts on the exhaust, install shift linkage, install battery and turn the key....

The exhaust is the tangerine exhaust...I hope to fire it up shortly..

Catalogued and sorted all the small hardware. Nuts, bolots, washers, screws, speed nuts, special hardware.

Figured out what goes to the players, what I have new, and what I need to order

Personally, I wouldn't want to have a 90 Degree Fitting (or 2) between my Stat and the Filter Console

I agree, it is reworked..I just had the fittings stuck in to keep them from getting lost....I will most likely rework it a few times until i get what I want...Fittings are only $20 each....

Drove it to the shop yesterday. Crated up the 2L motor I sold to Denis. Will be on it's way back to Maryland soon.

Installed the front plate on the 'BB' and had the CHP sign off on the ticket.

CHP doesn't charge to verify the correction, local PD wants $25.

If correction is signed off, the original fine ($38.) is reduced down to $10. smile.gif

so an update on this project. it worked , and really look great, but it takes a while to cure, and i should have thinned the enamel paint for it to flow easier, and to drain out and not be so thick. I made the mistake of "testing it " in several locations, one spot was a bit soft, not fully cured yet. this was the spare so i have 4 to go. SO on the next one i will thin it a bit, and i bought a hardener, that will accelerate the curing process and helps to actually speed the process and make it much harder, but does not hurt the bonding.

Prepped my GT Oil cooler shroud. Made the mounts for the Setrab cooler to the shroud.

I also patched up a previous hole on the opposite side of the shroud when I originally intended to run the oil lines on the passenger side.

Now that I'm going on the driver's side (GT-style), I had to patch the 2 holes I drolled on the opposite side!

Pics to come later.
